Hi,

I'm in the process of compiling some sample data and I have hit a mental wall with this situation!

Sample Data....

Excel Workbook
ABCDEFGHIJKL
1DataData1Data2Data3Data4Data5Data6Data7Data8Cells Populated
2ABC1239999999998XXXXXX2
3ABC124999969999799998XXXXX3
4ABC125999919999299993999949999599996999977
5ABC126999919999299993999944
6
7LookupCount Result
8ABC125
9
Sheet5

In this example the Result should be 7, as there are 7 cells in the row that are populated by numbers, any other data needs to be ignored.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ak

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hi Matty,

Works a treat, thank you very much, I would never have come up with that!

Thanks

Hi Ak,

No worries. Glad it worked. =SUM(IF(... constructs are extremely useful for matrix-type sums/counts.
