I have a list of 200 part numbers in column A (Sheet1)
Purchase history on separate tab (Sheet2) from 2016 - 2020 detailing quantities purchased.

Part ABC is in Sheet1 Cell A2.
Part DEF is on Sheet1 Cell A3.

On Sheet1, in Column "O" I want to SUM all purchases of part ABC within year 2016
Then, Column "P" to SUM all purchases for part ABC within year 2017.
etc.

what is the best formula to accomplish this?? I tried a COUNTIFS statement. reading between 2 dates for 2020 data. but no luck as it can't read the specific item i want to find.
if additional information is needed let me know!
Appreciate any help i can get.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
You need to use SUMIFS if your data has a column with dates, a column with product codes and a column with quantities.
