I am trying to create a formula that will lookup a description in a chart of accounts. The chart of accounts is three columns. The first column is the department number. The next column is the account number. The third column is the description. So each "account number" is made up of a department number and an account number. I want to create a formula that will lookup the department and the account number and return the description. Does anyone have an idea?

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
