I'm having issues trying to figure out how to substitue populate an "x" when I do a lookup

I've tried a few and nothing seems to work

=IF(MATCH($A2,[Book3]Sheet1!$A$2:$A$13,0),"x","")
=IF(VLOOKUP($A2,[Book3]Sheet1!$A$2:$A$13,1,FALSE),"x","")
=IF(LOOKUP($A2,[Book3]Sheet1!$A$2:$A$13),"x","")

None of these seem to work....

any ideas?

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
For the ones that I'm looking for I'm getting the "x", everything else comes back as a #N/A when I would like it to come back as blank.

See if this solves your issue:

=IFERROR(IF(MATCH($A2,[Book3]Sheet1!$A$2:$A$13,0),"x",""),"")
