Hello All,

I would like to reference a row using 2 criteria, one of which is fixed (i.e. cell="John" or cell=A1 where A1 is "John") and the other is max date.

E.g. Get col3 where col1=John and col2=maxdate

I have tried playing with Index and Match combinations but my attempts are not even worth posting as a starting point :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Hi John, and welcome to the board
Try this array formula, confirm CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER
=INDEX($A$2:$C$100,MATCH("JOHN"&MAX($B$2:$B$100),$A$2:$A$100&$B$2:$B$100,0),3)
