Just looking for a little help re the above. Used this forum a few times and managed to find the answers I was looking for, but not this time unfortunately.

Basically, I have a long list of data (5000 rows approx) with 2 columns. In row A is a list of reference numbers, and row B contains a list of locations to which those reference numbers apply. You will notice that the reference numbers can apply to various locations Example:

I want to transform this data into a 'table' based on unique reference numbers, with the location being displayed as a Yes/No in the columns to the right. Example:

UK HK Singapore Aus
1212186824 Yes Yes Yes No
700575412 Yes Yes Yes Yes
700689080 No Yes No Yes
1264086912 No Yes Yes No

Or even better, display a number displaying the number of times each location appears against any given reference instead of the Yes / No shown above.

Create a pivot table. Use the reference number as the row field and the location as the column field. "Count of reference number" as the data field.
