Lookups in a table range?

Hello,

Apologies if this has been covered, I've had a google search and a forum search but I can't find something that matches my requirements.

I'll try and explain what I'm trying to do:

I have a table with headings across the top: original mat code, replacement1, replacement2, to replacement6, and then current mat code. In the first column is always a material code, then there could be either no replacements up to a possible 6 in the following columns. The current material code column could be any one of the material codes in the other columns. What I would like to be able to do, is lookup a material code on a seperate sheet within the entire range, and output a value on the same row if it finds it.

I hope I have explained clearly enough, if anyone needs any further clarification or examples please just say. Thanks.

Mike

Just a quick bump and a note to say I have posted the same query on Excelforum.com found here complete with an example spreadsheet.
