loop/ if statement needed

in the row 'A' is the only row I am working in at all.
I have code to copy something from a text.txt into the excel document.
but I need some code to have it check A1 to see if there is data in it. if so I want it to go to A2 check A3 and so on till it finds the first cell with no data in it.

gave me an error. mite be the excel I am useing.
useing win2000.
and also that code starts from the last cell in the workbook. not from the top.

Please post the exact code that you are using and indicate the error message and on which line the error occurred.

I completly redid the code but I will paste it back in and try again.

it sticks it in c column but I'll try to mess with it till it works
