Hi,

I am trying to search a column for a row with specific values. Unfortunately, the data, when taken from the report, is poorly formatted and all in one row. Is there a way to search for a specific substring of the entire row? I have 3 different strings I need to search for in a single row, and this would be much easier than reformatting the report download every day. Case sensitivity is not an issue, since they are mostly strings of numbers.

Thanks

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
cant you just add a *

say i wanted to find cat

cat*

will find every instance of it ie; cat123 123cat cat thecat etc

Doing it with an * won't work for what I need to do because I am looking for specific sets of strings. For example, I need to find String1 = ABCDE, String2= 100, String 3 = 200, not ABCDEF, 2100, or 1200. Is there a way to do this? It's unfortunate that this data is all in one column, but I can't change it. Is there not a condition for a "contains" or a substring or anything?

ok so you want to find a row

by looking down a column for a cell that contains specific sets of strings

is the data seperated by a space? ABCDE 100 200

*edit*

i think search the entire row it could be any cell but must contain those 3 strings and the 3 strings could be any cell in that row

thats what you mean?

yes exactly. the data is separated by spaces, but not consistent in the number of spaces

ie.
one line can look like:

ABCDE 100 200

and another can look like

ABCDE 100 200

will it always be the same cell, same column? just spaced out differently
