I am trying to get Excel to do this:

If B3="one", then C3="good"
If B3="two", then C3="good"
If B3="three", then C3="bad"
If B3="four", then C3="bad"

I am new to Excel and just can't seem to get it to do this. Can anyone help?

Thank you.

Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
Here's one way:

=IF(B3="one","Good",IF(B3="two","Good",IF(B3="three","Bad",IF(B3="four","Bad",""))))

Although if you're going to add more options, VLOOKUP would start looking pretty good and be more efficient.

Hope that helps,

=IF(OR(B3={"one","two"}),"good",IF(OR(B3={"three","four"}),"bad","No Idea"))
