MACRO Button - Alt Text within Format Control

Thanks in advance for your assistance. After doing a Google search and searching forums, it's still not clear what the "Alt Text" section is within the "Format Control" box of a Macro button. It seems that it the same as the text displayed on the Macro button.

Can I change that text to enter help text where it will not effect anything?
