Hi All,

I am a complete noob at macros and have searched high and low for the answer to this question and would be eternally grateful to anyone who can help me out with this.

  • I have an exported CSV file that has many unneeded columns that need to be removed.
  • I also want to split a column so that first and last name are not together.
  • I want to divide the numbers in one column by 1.1 to remove tax.
  • It also needs to change the date format from month/day/year to day/month/year.

Is there a way that I can create a macro that does all of this? If so, how?

THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE!!

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
1. if your CSV file are always comes with same columns {headings}, then you can go for macro but exporting CSV file through macro is bit challenging. 'coz not sure the conversion will be successfull
2. if you send your file with ex so will be easier to help you out :)
