Macro filtering question

Hey guys,

I've got another question, this one macro related. In a spreadsheet for my class looking at asset depreciation forecasts, the "Book Value" column goes negative at a certain date, and I need it to just go blank instead of displaying a negative accounting value.

How can I write a macro that makes a negative accounting value (or even just the presence of parantheses, actually) display a blank cell instead of following the formula? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Does it need to be a macro? Seems like the MAX() function would be my first thought...something like =MAX(net book value formula,0) returns 0 if whatever you're already using to find NBV would be negative.
