Macro for bottom border

Hello,

I would like to draw bottom border lines (not underlines) from say Columns X TO AL for unique values in Col A. For example
Col A Cols X through AL

I would appreciate if one can write a simple macro or any other short cut to do this ?

Any reason not to just use conditional formatting?

Hi,

Can you please let me knnow which of the conditional formatting will work in this case ? There are different values between Col A and Col X but the border should be based on whenever only the values in Col A changes. I have no problem if the border starts from Col A throughout (not necessarily from Col X).

In row 1 of whatever column you want the border to appear, use the formula =COUNTIF($A$1:$A1, $A1)=1 and set the bottom border.

Copy down.

Hi, Please note that all the cells have values or texts and am not sure how to use the Count if formula you suggested ? If I write the formula in say X3, will it not overwrite the values in X3 ?

Can you please provide the formula syntax ?

The formula is a conditional formatting conndition, not a cell formula.

Hi, I tried the CountIF formula. But what I get is bottom border for the first occurence. Thus in my example the X1 to AL1 gets the border instead of X3 to AL3. A1 to A3 have the same cell values hence I need the border only at X3 to say AL3.
