Macro inside worksheet

Hello:
Just joined the message board. I am new to excel. I use to write macros in Lotus 123. I use to write all keyboard strokes on paper first. Then, I would type them in a cell. Is there a way I can do this in excel, and then execute it using Control and then character. Where do I find instructions on how to go about it?

Welcome to the Board!

You could use the Macro Recorder. It has severe limitations, but can be a useful tool, nonetheless. Start the recorder with: Tools, Macro, Record New Macro... Hope that helps!
