Cell K4 will either be blank or will have a work order number like 1234. If there is anything in cell K4 then I do not want the macro to modify that cell. What code could I use to not enter anything if there is a number/text there?

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.

Add in something in the code, either at the beginning or during the actual modification:

Code:
Select Case Range("K4")
    Case = ""
    Case Else
        Exit Sub
End Select
