Macro or formula for dates?

I'm wondering if there is any macro or formula that anyone knows of that will automatically input dates.

For example:

In column C I have a certain date.

In column D, I'd like the date 45 days from the date in column C.

Is this even possible?

Thanks in advance!

You may want put this formula in D1
=IF(C1="","",C1+45) assuming your original date will be in cell C1
