This is my macro:

Sub Macro()
Dim rng As Range

Set rng = Range("B1:B5")

If IsEmpty(rng.Value) = False Then
MsgBox "Run Macro"
Else
MsgBox "Cells are Empty"

End If

End Sub

But when the cells are empty, instead of getting "Cell are empty" i get "Run Macro". When cells have contents, I get "Cells are empty".

If I change it to IsEmpty = True, the opposite of my intended result still happens.

Why?

Excel Facts

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
The problem is that you get the value of several cells rather one cell. You must iterate over all cells in B1:B5 and test each cell in this range for emptiness or use worksheet function:
Code:
[COLOR=#333333]Sub Macro()[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#333333]
   Dim rng As Range[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#333333]
   Set rng = Range("B1:B5")
[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#333333]   If [/COLOR]WorksheetFunction.CountA(rng) > 0[COLOR=#333333] Then[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#333333]      MsgBox "Run Macro"[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#333333]   Else[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#333333]      MsgBox "Cells are Empty"[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#333333]   End If[/COLOR]

End Sub
