macro running slow

I have an odd problem, or rather I noticed something odd. I have a simple macro running which copies rows from one worksheet to another. It's running fine but painfully slowly. Oddly enough though, when I hit the Esc key, the process speeds up, although sometimes it exits and jumps to another Sub. Weird or what!?

Can anyone give me a clue what the problem might be and a workaround?

Thanks in advance.

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Not much we can do without seeing your code, but I'll give you the standard "try this to speed up your code" reply:

Code:
Sub YourSubName()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Application.Calculation = xlCalculationManual

'Your Code

Application.Calculation = xlCalculationAutomatic
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End Sub
