Sorry I couldnt find an answer to this searching....

Since my security level is high, excel disables my own macros when I open files. It says that I can either lower the security level or digitally sign the macro. Is there a way to make any of my own macros automatically digitally signed?

Thanks,
gm

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Hi gaming_mouse,

Yes, you can, although you do not digitally sign individual macros, but rather the entire VBAProject of a workbook. And I believe that you still have to go through the process of acquiring a real digital certificate, even if it is only for the purpose of running your own macros without reducing your macro security level.

Meaning I'd have to buy a digital cert for verisign, eg?

I guess I'll just lower my security level.... it seems like excel would have some way to mark a macro as your own.

Thanks.

Macro Security Warning

Goto VBA EXPRESS Forum, Articles Section. Avoid macro security warnings, dated 2/8/2005.

is all about self certification, and NOT setting your Security levels low.

I have not tryed it yet , but hope that this helps.

nods - thanks for the article information. I just read it and signed my macros, even though my security asked me each time that still got to be a little annoying.
