We upgraded our SAP system to HANA on 14th November and my macro does not retrieve any data from the database that was posted after this date but still retrieves all the data that was posted before this date. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks,
Steve.

Hi and welcome to the MrExcel Message Board.

Unfortunately, I won't be very much help, however, my understanding of SAP/HANA is that it does not store the data in tables like the previous systems did. It tends to be column-based storage although I believe it does support row-based storage as well.

So my guess is that you have not used a recommended SAP API (e.g. BAPI) way of extracting the data but have written something that accesses the tables directly. Now that the data is no longer in the same tables then your code will not work. There may not be an easy workaround.

Is there a BAPI way of getting the same data? If so, could you use that, instead? (I am guessing that SAP will have made BAPIs work properly between systems but that is just a guess.)

Hi RickXL,

Thanks for replying. I think that the problem is that the connection string is pointing to the wrong system.

Steve.
