My task is to prepare an automated report that has fixed text whilst some parts (words or numbers) are linked with data from other Excel files and change accordingly. Those links have the form of:

"C:\xxx\yyy\zzz\[10001-3.xls]Sheet1'!$A$9"

I want to be able to change in every cell appearing this "10001-3" with something of the same form (e.g.40501-14) I will be typing in another cell (e.g.AS2)

I'd be grateful if you could assist me cause it'll save a lot of time and an enormous amount of mistakes (I just want to mention that I'm talking about some thousands reports...)

Save me from my misery please...

Cheers!!!

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Here's one way.

Hope that helps!

P.S. Please make a copy first, if you're talking about that many changes. Make sure it works properly on a test workbook.

Hey Tazguy37 thanks for the help, but it didn't work out for me. No changes happened at my path names. They remain unchanged nomatter what I've tried...

Is the code you propose especially designed for hyperlinks? If yes then this must be it... I've no idea about VBA thus cannot make the slightest adjustment to make it change my types or paths.

Thanks anyway!!!
