Hi all.. I am making a macro that preps a spreadsheet for upload into a database application.

What I need to know is this: the last step of the macro has a formula in the first cell of an empty column. I have it set now so the user has to Ctrl-D the formula to the last row of records, then copy-Paste Special->Values the results.
Is there a way to have the macro ctrl-D to the last row of records automatically?
Thanks!

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
But the problem is that the macro will be used on sheets that have differing number of records.

What does Ctrl+D actually do?
Is this a keyboard shortcut or a Macro shortcut key entry?

I used this simple setup and while in cell E8 pressed Ctrl+D. Nothing happens.

If it is a Macro shortcut key entry then we would need to see the Macro that you have.

What version of Excel are you using? I'm using Excel 2007.

The macro runs through a series of steps.. the last of which is inserting a formula in cell E2.
The user has to Ctrl-D this formula (which copies the formula down) to the last record row.

I would love to have the macro do this but I need to know where to tell the macro to stop.

How about showing your macro so somebody may be able to figure out what you are doing.
