macro to change cell selected

i need to change

sub macro1()
Range("A5").select
end sub

to

sub macro1()
Range("A6").select
end sub

using another macro.

not entirely sure I follow? Can you not create the other code as a separate macro (so you have 2) and then run a test to determine which Macro should be run?

(or is your example just to see how you can amend a macro using another macro?)
