Hello all,

Trying to write a macro that will replace a word in an entire column based on the header in row 1.

In column D, replace the word “OPEN” with whatever the value is in D1. For example in column D:

Before:

NEW TEXT
OPEN
OPEN
TEXT
OPEN

After:

NEW TEXT
NEW TEXT
NEW TEXT
TEXT
NEW TEXT

Help is most appreciated - thanks!

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Most of that you can get with the recorder:

    ActiveCell.EntireColumn.Replace What:="OPEN", Replacement:=Cells(1, ActiveCell.Column).Value, LookAt:=xlPart, _
SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _
ReplaceFormat:=False

HTH,
