Macro to inputdata via inputbox

I have the following code below to input a value in cell S1 on sheet "Payments"

 Sub InputamounttoSettle()
With Sheets("Payments")
.Range("S1").Select
MsgBox ("Enter the amount to settle")

  End With

End Sub

No value is being inputted via the message box on Cell S1

It would be appreciated if someone could kindly amend my code

Try this:

Sub InputamounttoSettle()
'Modified  4/17/2021  2:33:27 AM  EDT
Dim ans As String
ans = InputBox("Enter the amount to settle")
Sheets("Payments").Range("S1").Value = ans
End Sub

Not sure what is the problem but the msgbox can be used for simple answer. You need InputBox. There are two type of InputBox, Here is complete guide
