Macros Disabled?

Hi there. We use an Excel workbook that contains many complex macros. Each time the workbook opens, we select the option to Enable the macros. After selecting Enable, the workbook opens, but none of the macros work. It acts as though they have been disabled or screened out.

The exact same workbook works great on another computer - macros and all. Both computers are running Excel 2002 with Windows XP. Neither computer is hooked up to a network, virus protection, or a firewall. The Macro Security Level on both computers is set to Medium. Are there settings in Excel 2002 which might be affecting the workbook on the one computer?

Thanks very much for your help - we are stumped!

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
Suzilee - Is this true for both event-intiated macros and manually-initiated macro's? It's truly dead on the one machine?

Hi Tom! All of the macros in the program are manually initiated. On the 'dead' machine, there are no error messages when the program first opens, but when I click on any button to initiate a macro, the macro fails - it doesn't even try to run...

Thanks very much for any insight you can give me!!!

I would start by opening up the editor, and see what Application.EnableEvents returns, in the Immediate window:

? Application.EnableEvents

Should return True.

You are sure that any options relating to running Macros are NOT automatically disabling macros, or disabling Events, correct?

Look in any Personal or Add-in for code that might be turning off Events.

You may consider unloading Add-ins, and relocating Personal, then restarting Excel and see if any changes occur.
