macros in personal.xls not loading when opening .csv

I have macros in my PERSONAL.xls file that are available normally when I open Excel or a .xls file. If I open a .csv file from File->Open, the macros are still available. However, when I open a .csv file directly from the desktop, the macros are not available. It looks like when loading a .csv direct from the desktop PERSONAL.xls does not load.

Is there a way to make Excel load PERSONAL.xls while opening .csv files?

Thanks.

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Sorry, but the Personal.xls loads when Excel fires up regardless of the file type being opened ( for me anyway! ). Are you sure that is what's happening?

When this happens, go into Help>About Microsoft Excel>Disbaled items and see if your Personal.xls is listed there. If so, it suggests that the csv is causing upset in the load of the Personal.xls file.

Yes. As I said in the original post, the fact that PERSONAL.xls is not loading when I open .csv files was my problem in the first place.

In your original post you did not say that you'd looked in Help>About Microsoft Excel>Disabled items. Are you saying that you have now ... and what did you see there exactly?

For the FOURTH time now, when I load .csv files from the desktop PERSONAL.xls does not load. The macros don't appear in my list. PERSONAL.xls is not listed under disabled items.

I don't know how many different ways I can keep saying the same thing.

Kozemp, I think it would be best if you open your excel application first and then opened .csv files from the excel (or from the desktop)

Is there any reason why you must open from the desktop directly?
