I am writing a macro. I am stuck on one item. I want my code to do the following:

Search column C (which contains account numbers) for acct#3850.
When it is found, select the row 3850 is on and delete it.

Is this possible to do with a macro?

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Yes, you can... one option is to record a macro, use Edit | Search, and delete the row that it finds, to get the correct code.

Another option is to use MATCH() from code:

Code:
Dim TheRow As Variant
Dim AccNumber As Long

AccNumber = 3850
TheRow = Application.Match(AccNumber, Range("C:C"), 0)

If IsNumeric(TheRow) Then
    Cells(TheRow, 1).EntireRow.Delete
Else
    MsgBox "Not found", vbCritical
End If
