mail merge from excel label template

i keep failing
i am trying to create a mail merge TEMPLATE form my excel sheet
how can i create a template that the user only needs to choose merge and it will collect the excel sheet and create the labels

Why not use MSWord's Mail Merge tools linked to an Excel database?
It has a special tool for label creation

i can do that.
however how can i create a template or somhow have this a bit more automated as i know what to do but most of the staff doesnt
