Hi all. Is there some sort of setting to make Excel NOT overlap into the empty cell to the right if your contents are too long to fit?

A few caveats...
  • I do not want to insert a column.
  • I do not want to change the alignment to right.
  • I do not want to wrap the text
  • I do not want to enter spaces or white characters into the "empty" cell. It has data validation and other formulas that depend on it.
Is this possible?

Sorry if this is too basic, but it's so basic I can't find the answer.

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
NEVERMIND - I just talked them into allowing the wordwrap. Though if anyone happens to know the answer I'd like to know for future reference. I wouldn't think this would be such an issue.
