Making a permanent change to the colour palette ?

Is this possible, I have made two changes to the colour palette but as soon as I open up another workbook, it reverts back to the standard colours, or if I close the workbook I've made the changes to and re-open it, my changes are lost

The colour palette is saved with the workbook so I don't know why you are losing it. If you change the palette in a blank workbook and save it as a workbook template, new workbooks will have that palette.
