Making A Spreadsheet Name Anonymous

Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me with this question.

I am making a survey and would like to put a radio button at the botton that says, "Would you like to make this survey anonymous?" If they choose the radio button "yes" and they save the spreadsheet the extension name says, "Anonymous.xls" If no, it would state their name in the extension.

Any thoughts?

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
How are you going to consolidate the results? If they have to e-mail you Anonymous.xls, it kinda defeats the purpose ;)

Good point. I wanted to give them the option so when the administrator rolls it up then the data will not show their name. Just a better feeling.

Personally, I don't see the file names as being relevant. You'll likely consolidate the results and only share out the aggregated results, so no one but the administrator would likely have visibility to the original file name/sender anyway.

What you could do instead is have an optional field as part of the survey for name. Then, when you consolidate the surveys (presumably with looping code), if there was no value in that field, it would just be blank in the consolidation.

To make your looping easier, you'll want to have the files in the same directory, which means 100 files all named "anonymous.xls" will be bad anyway...
