Apologies if this is a really simple problem but I'm a bit new to excel.
I want two tables to be essentially a range of dates with data values set at specific dates.
So column A has dates, column B has data
Table A has only the dates for which a data point is recorded, i.e. 1/1/13 = x, 15/2/13 = y, 3/6/13 = z
But I want to get all data points into a table with all dates (1/1/13, 2/1/13, 3/1/13......) descending and data points next to their corresponding dates in the original table.
This will mean dates with no corresponding data points will leave a blank cell in the adjacent column.

There must be a simple way of making excel assign the data values to their corresponding dates in the blank table but I can't work it out!
Please help!
