I have an Excel file that has confidential data in it. I want to have a macro or something that will turn the character dimensions of the actual data values of each row into something that is masked and not identifiable. This data could have a column that is about Products and another column that is about geographical locations and have many rows where I want each identical product to be masked to the same name but the next different product masked to a different name and the same thing for the different geographical locations.

Any suggestions?

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
You could create a mapping file (or sheet), where you have a unique list of actual product names and locations. Then create a list of dummy product names and a list dummy locations, at least one dummy term for each unique product and one for each unique location. Assign index numbers to the original terms. Then let the macro assign random numbers to the dummy terms. After that, the macro can look up the matching dummy term by the index number.
