Mass Cancel

This is a strange one...

My manager was using a replace all function, on a field of 16C x 3,000R = 48,000 cells. Except he made a typo on the replace function.

So now excel is asking him for a file path everytime it tried to replace something in each cell...

Is there a way to mass cancel the "replace all" ???

(holding down the Esc button gives about 4-5 cells per second (it will take around 3 hrs to cancel it all if done manually...)

Anyone know of a quicker solution?

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Probably a little bit late, but if you are unconcerned about losing unsaved work, the easiest thing would be to use Windows Task Manager to kill the Excel application.

Bumping this thread as I'm quite interested if anyone here knows of a solution to this issue, plus the "formula is too long" one that I occasionally get. VERY ANNOYING :x

Is there a Macro you can keep in Personal to kill this? (without completely cancelling Excel and ergo losing all unsaved data)

Not really (other than some McGyver'ing with a pen and some duct tape on the ESC key :).

I imagine someone with time could code a stop with an error trap, but the problem is that you have to interrupt Excel in Edit mode, which Find & Replace is entering/exiting, when you invoke it.

I've had it happen to me on a few occasions, and frankly shutting down has been the best option. If someone makes that many mass replace edit errors it might be worthwhile, but...
