Mass file search Macro

I'm sure this exists but I can't quite find what I'm looking for. I'm also completely oblivious to Macros and VBA at the moment but I would appreciate any help.

My spreadsheet has 3 columns:

Part Number Pre-Existing Link

I need to be able to copy/paste a list of part numbers into column A. Then have excel search a main folder and all it's sub folders to see if the corresponding file exists. In column B it should return a "Yes" or "No" depending on if it does or doesn't exist. Additionally, if possible, it would create a hyper link to the file so I can check if it's actually the correct part number. I don't really need the last step but it would be nice.

So as an example

Part Number Pre-Existing Link
PP72 Yes PP72.pdf
PP73 No
PP75 Yes PP75.pdf

Some additional things: I need the search to be fairly exact. Using the example above if I search PP72 there may be a .pdf file called FYLPP72.pdf, AMZ_PP72.pdf, PP72-12.pdf, etc. And they could all be different parts. So I need it to only find that exact string.

I have lists varying from 1 item to 1000 items. i unfortunately don't have the time to add ".pdf" to them. I suppose I could make a formula to do it but if I could ignore the file extension it would help.

I really need it to search sub-folders. The main folder has a bunch of folders in them and some have sub-sub folders.

If anyone knows a totally different program that can do that I would be on board for that too. Excel is just my first option.

Please let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Also. I'd like to learn VBA at some point. Does anyone have any suggestions on good materials? That way I don't have to bother people about it?

I appreciate all the help you can give.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
