Hi,

i have a workbook with a master sheet.

I am obviously going to copy this worksheet & have all others in the workbook identical to the master.

I wanted to know if it when i edit the master (i.e. Formulas, text, or add rows or columns) then is it possible to have all these changes automatically reflected on the sheets that have been copied from the master???

I am guessing probably not:(

just thought i would put it out there.

Cheers everyone!!

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
I am sure I am not understanding the question correctly but if you just need to have the cells match the Master sheet then just reference the master sheet cell you want to duplicate i.e in this case cell A5 and copy/paste to any other cells you want to match the Master sheet

=Master!A5

Will this work if i have copied the master sheet & named the copied sheet AUG-11.

I then edit the formula in I10 on the master sheet. Will this change in cell I10 be reflected (changed) in cell I10 on the copied AUG-11 sheet???

Cheers

Place the formula in the copied sheet cell A5.

Using A5 as above it will reference the cell on the master sheet so if there was something like =sum(A1:E5) in cell A5 on the master sheet then it will give the sum result from cells A1:E5 on the mastersheet.

It doesn't copy the formula as such, it is literally a duplicate of the result or text/format in the mastersheet and wiil always match the mastersheet.

The name of the copied sheet doesn't make any difference the formula is only focused on the mastersheet cell.

If you need the formula itself to move and not the result then you can group the sheets by pressing and holding the Ctrl button and clicking on the sheet tabs. Then type in the mastersheet but remember you must ungroup the sheets (Right click a tab and select ungroup) immediately
