Match Blank

I am trying to have a cell reference the first blank cell in a different column for population later. MATCH doesn't seem to work. The blank cells could be spread trough the data in the column.
Any suggestions

The following should return the row number of the first emtpy cell

=MIN(IF(ISBLANK(C1:C10),ROW(C1:C10)))

Array entered with Control + Shift + Enter

=MIN(IF(ISBLANK(C1:C10),ROW(C1:C10)))

Array entered with Control + Shift + Enter

=MATCH(TRUE,ISBLANK(C1:C10),0)

also confirmed with control+shift+enter should be faster.
