Hi all, i'd really appreciate some help.

I'm trying to match values in column A between two sheets in seperate but open workbooks. When two vlaues match in "A" I need to paste a range (e.g E##:G##) from the the same row into the other. I would like to run the function from the sheet i'd like to paste into.

I would record but can't record the matching function?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).

Why not use vlookup?

=vlookup(A1,otherfileA:G,5,0)

5 will give you the entry in column E, so change to 6 for F and so on.

Expiry,

It's a good shout but the files I need to copy data from will change on a weekly basis (name etc). The real issue is I need to individually copy this data from 30 reports on an individual basis once i've validated the information. If i use a V lookup i'll have to change the formula across circa 500 lines which may sit across the 30 reports?

Sorry i know that's clear as mud!
