Any help on this problem would be appreciated…
Sheets 1-5 in my workbook contain different names under various group headings. Sheet 6 is a summary sheet showing group headings with each name that has appeared over sheets1-5 shown only once along with the frequency of their appearance.
Is this particularly difficult? I’m not sure where to start…

Hello,

Can you explain what group headings are?
What data you have on the 5 Sheets?
and, what result you expect on Sheet6?

Also, have you looked at Data>Consolidate.

The first five sheets are actually scorecards from cricket matches. I want sheet 6 to total up the number of appearances for each player over the series (along with a summary of their performances).
I have not looked at Data-Consolidate. Is this a possible solution?

ken,
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I cannot post an example at the moment. Is it possible for you to explain the process that is involved in what I need to do. I should be able to apply it to my data.
I appreciate your help.

Consolidation would do what you need.

You can also look at Pivot Tables using muliple consolidated ranges.
