I'M REALLY OUT OF MY ELEMENT. HOPEFULLY THERE IS SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP. I'M TRYING TO MATCH DATA ON ONE SPREADSHEET WITH DATA ON ANOTHER SPREADSHEET. SOUNDS CONFUSING, BUT MAYBE SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS WHERE IM GOING.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
If you press F1 in using the help tutor enter in Match formulas it should be fairly clear the process used to match from one sheet to the next, remember you cannot match from external workbooks or sheets. matching will return the cell reference location within the index match array.

CHEERS!
