Hi Everybody,

I have tried googling this, but I can't quite figure out how to word this to find the answer, though I am sure it should be easy.

I have two columns of data. I would like to compare my data against a master data sheet, and if it shows up put an X in column 3.

Example:
Column 1:
1
2
3
4
5

Column 2:
1
4

So I would like an X to appear beside the 1 and 4 in a new column, column 3, to indicate that those are also found in column 1.

I hope this is coming across, the more I try to explain it the more difficult it is becoming.

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Try this:
If your data are in columna A and B:
in Column C
=IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH(B1,$A$1:$A$200,0)),"X","")

copy down

Change this part $A$1:$A$200 to point to your master sheet
