Max & min values

I have 5 and 6 digit transaction references in one column. Is there a quick way of finding the max and min values of both the 5 & 6 digit sets ?

Note that these are array formulas and enter as ctrl+shift+enter. The analogy for min values will be obvious.

Thanks for this solution. I've used arrays in spreadsheets but how do you include them into vba?
