Hi

I want to allow users to select a property reference from a list of 2500 individual properties. They are grouped by 120 developments

The data

Development Name, Property Reference, Address, Post Code

This is created using Powerpivot as the source of the data. The Development Name is on the slicer.

This provide a short list for the user and works really well.

However

Every time a new slicer is selected and/or slicers are cleared the memory usage increases.
This is a major issue since this is carried out repeatedly and is may take significant memory from the company network. (800mB)

Record of changes to memory usage

I used Task Manager, Process to see the memory used.

Every selection increased the memory usage

I found the same problem with a pivot table taken from the data pasted into a spreadsheet. Using the report filters had a similar problem.

How can I stop additional memory being used every time a slicer is selected?

I am using Excel 2010 and PowerPivot V2

Kind Regards

Robin
