menu items unavailable

I have been asked to update a spreadsheet designed by my predecessor .
but I find that some items on the menues are not available.
Also the workbook reaplies the password even if i save it unprotected.
Help

Hello James

Does this workbook have VBA code in it? Check by opening the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11) and navigating to it in the top left Project Window. It will probably have modules in it (click on these to see the code) but you will also need to check the ThisWorkbook module and all the sheet modules. Post back all the code you find.

thank you for your time but it was the fact that the workbook was shared.
Silly me for not checking first.
