Menus

I've deleted all my standard menus (File,edit,windows etc etc )by dragging them off screen while I was trying to customise my menu with a custom menu. I don't seem to be able to get them back. Any ideas ?

I've just ran the last piece of the code, as I thought this may work ( my VB skills are limited !!)This bit .....

Sub RestoreMenus()

Application.ScreenUpdating = False

Application.CommandBars("Worksheet Menu Bar").Enabled = True
Application.CommandBars("Worksheet Menu Bar").Visible = True

It didn't seem to fgive me any of my menu's back. Am I running the wrong piece ?

The Excel addin from http://www.asap-utilities.com has a vision control which enbles the toolbars to be hidden and restored by clicking on it. Not really sure if it will work in this case and i am not about to delete my toolbars to find out. You can download it for free and try to use the restore toolbars button

I think I may have misunderstood you. Just to clarify, have you 'deleted' your menus or have you just moved them and now can't see them?

Deleted them ( I think ). Went to toolbars customize and then dragged the file command from the menu and it disappeared, Did this for all commands so I was just left with my custom menu. Now I can't get file or any of the others back !

I must confess I haven't had this problem before. However, I notice on the Customise box that there is a 'Reset' option - have you tried it?

I have tried that. It restores the toolbars rather than the menus. I think I'll try having excel re installed. That seems my only option !

Interesting problem. Don't know why your reinstall didn't work. Try this.<pre>

P.S. It is better to post back to your original thread and move it back to the top then starting a new one.
