Merge 817 files into one?

Good Morning,

I have 817 individual excel files, all with the same column labels, but with different data. Each spreadsheet is named for the date it was created so it's something like blahblah_1-4-2013.

Is it possible to merge all of these files into one master excel file, and then pull the filename with the date into the first empty column on the sheet?
