Merging 2 columns

I have 2 columns each with a series of 5 consecutive numbers. I need to merge these two columns together so that I have 1 column with 10 consecutive numbers. How do I do this, I know it's simple, I just can't seem to do it.

So I want to have an empty column right after the first two and put the formula =a2&b2

Hi sopranoiam:

There are several ways in which you can do this -- depending on the purpose of why you are doing it, your own preference, and so on.

One way would be to Edit|Cut the numbers from column B and then do Edit|Paste_Special|Values at the end of entries in column A
or
Since the numbers are consecutive numbers, you could write the first number from column B at the end of the entries in column A, and let us say if this happens in cell A6 where you have written the formula =B1, then you could write the formula =A6+1 in cell A7, and copy it down to cells A8:A10
