merging two lists and removing overlap

Hi,

If I have two lists which I want to merge and then remove the overlap, what should I do? The overlapping entries will have identical content in the row. Thanks.

The field called Identifier is the key. Let's assume this is in column A.

Here is a sample. I want to combine list 1 with list 2 and yield the merged list. You can assume that any row which has the same key (Identifier) will have identical content for the rest of the row.

List 1:
Identifier Description Priority
A First example 1
B Second example 2
C Third example 3

List 2:
Identifier Description Priority
D Fourth example 3
E Fifth example 2
A First example

Merged list:
Identifier Description Priority
A First example 1
B Second example 2
C Third example 3
D Fourth example 3
E Fifth example 2

hmmm. seems like remove duplicate records and make description as the longest text isn't it?

If you can combine 2 lists then you can use Advancedfilter to get unique records...
